About Standing Stones
Standing Stones is an annual Hmong Baptist youth camp organized and run by the Youth Staff of the Hmong Baptist National Association (HBNA). Standing Stones has been in existence since 1996. It is open to everyone and anyone. We serve to provide an experience that is overwhelmingly unique and special, one that will leave a trademark in a youth's life. Standing Stones is also a time when many youth will encounter and experience God, an opportunity that will save many lives.
Standing Stones is a "memorial" to remind the youth of their commitment to Jesus or what they experienced through camp. Joshua 4: 4-7 says, "So Joshua called together the twelve men... from the Israelites... and said to them, 'Go over before the ark of the Lord your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder... when your children ask you, 'What do these stones mean?' tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever." And Joshua concludes saying in verse 24, "He did this so that all the people of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God."
